Mate of mine bought this YZ80 for his son. From what I can gather its a 1992 model, but I am not sure.
According to the previous owner it has a new piston. But we are battling to start the bike. First we had no spark. Had the plug coil replaced and now it has spark but is weak.
I have been told it could be wiring, a bad earth or the source coil.
He has decided to sell it. He paid R5500 for it and then R400 to sort the spark out.
He would like to get his R5500 back and rather look for something else. He does not want to sukkel. Someone more clever than us could sort it out.
Could be a good father and son project. I know these 80's used to move...
Overall the bike looks good. Has a fmf shorty. I can throw in a new white front fender.
