EC Game Farm Cruise
The idea is to have a low adrenalin easy cruise out to a game farm and ride around, see some animals, get off the bikes and move into the veld a bit, and jut have a little fun. The location has areas for thrill seekers and ares for the rustige ou wat net 'n ent wil ry.

Date: 12 - 14 December the weekend of the 12th it seems
There seems to be a lot of votes going for early 2009. If the ride is a success we can do another similar one next year. However to make it worthwhile lets get a good group together on this one.

Costs: We will need to pay for the accommodation which includes bedding, more wood than we could sanely burn and the full kitchen with cups, pots, pans, plates etc. I will arrange for a cash bar to be available with cold beers and the like. Let me know your preferences this week. I wil make us a game potjie on Saturday evening with potbread. Bring a small braaipack for saturday brunch. Planning to do a braai on top of the mountain at around 1 or so. Bring some food for Friday evening as well as some brekkie material (eggs, bacon that sort of thing) for Sunday brekkie. I will cater saturday evening. That covers food I think.
R100 per person per day = R200 for accomodation (price is confirmed and booking made)

Location: Hoeksfontein Safaries, just outside Pearston. https://www.hoeksfontein.co.za/4x4.html
Facilities: I hunt there fairly often and can say that the facilities are excellent. There is a pool, open braai, closed braai, bar counter and fridge (bring own booze), large kitchen, big eating area and a nice lounge. Then the cabins are well appointed with two beds to a very large cabin. Each of which has it's own shower and toilet. This is a place that the wife and kids can also come to.
Activities: There are several routes in and around the farm from just lekker dirt tracks to some quite technical stuff. Hoeksfontein is also a game farm and there is a lot of game on the farm. For those who want, I'll take you for a stalk on foot to see how close we can get to some wildlife. Might be a nice oppertunity for some buscraft skills etc.

Schedule: We will be leaving from the Steers at Algoa Park at 12:00 on the 12th of December. We'll fill up and get eats there. After the whole group is there the ride will commence. Families going by cage can also meet here at this time and drive a convoy to the destination. Suggested family route is via Jansenville, taking R63 towards Pearston, @ Pearston left immiediately after the bridge.
