I am about to push the button on a almost new 2021 4 sleeper from Echo in Centurion, dealing with a guy called Darren there....anybody know him or dealt with him?
Anyone have experience with the Chobe, I had a look at a demo unit in PE and like the fact that you can stand upright inside and has a bit of sitting space!
I have put my Edgeout teardrop on the market now as well, really enjoyed it over the past year and extremely easy to use and comfortable but SWAMBO wants something that she can stand inside to dress etc. The Edgeout now sells new for R289k without extras....I want 230k incl 2 x awnings, solar panel, stainless steel wood box and a full wall set to enclose the 2.1 awning.

@edgy , I am also looking at either the Edgeout or that Chobe.
The Tara on the Chobe is worrying me. As an owner of both, can you please tell me what vehicle are you towing with, and how big a difference do you find in moving the Chobe around on site vs the Edgeout?
Will be appreciated as I camp alone most of the time. The Chobe seems like overkill for one person, and the edgeout missing a cover over its kitchen that is still not sorted.
Some advise please.
Regards
Gerhard

I have been in the market for a trailer/caravan for a while.

I am unfortunately not of small stature and found that it works best if I reverse out of the chobe. Entry is not really a problem. It was however a little cramped for my liking.

My friend has the 4 sleeper - kids 7 & 11 and they camp happily ever after.

Takes him about 20 minutes from stopping till ready with a cold one.

He tows it with his 3.0 D-4D and the bakkie manages quite comfortably.

I eventually settled for the Tuff Cats Mbada Nova. ;)

Just noticed this is an old thread. Sorry for wasting your time.

Hope you're still enjoying the Chobe. ;)

Sandvreter the Chobe is far easier to tow and manoeuvre around as it’s both lighter but more importantly it has a narrower axle wheelbase that makes a massive difference
