Maverick, myself and a couple of friends off the xrv.org forum went to the annual Essex Air Ambulance Bike Meet today. It was an absolutely stunning day (hardly a cloud in sight and all off 22 degrees!). There were a couple of thousand bikes and a stunt man showing off. Unfortunately we had to leave when the mass ride-out started but it was a pretty good morning. Here's some pics.
The bikes - there's another car park about 2/3 the size of this one which was also full. Not as many bikes as there were at the MotoGP but still very impressive.
And a couple of pics of the stunt man. His name is Craig Jones and he holds the world record for the longest rolling stoppie - 225m from 190km/h. Man, this guy is awesome. It looks like the bike is just another limb of his.
Turning while doing a stoppie
Two up!
I'm pretty sure a V-Rod's not supposed to do this..
Doing a one handed rolling burnout with the other hand on the wing man's head.
That's the "wing man" scraping his peak on the floor. Man, that guy has big brass ones!
