Hello everyone, i'm all set for my tour just 28 days to go. I fly 12 hours from Hong Kong on 25 June to London, 2 days to get used to the bike and sort out the packing, got a top box and a set of panniers. Total of 80L for the 2 of us!
Starting in England on 27 June !
27th catch ferry to France and ride about 500km to Mussy-sur-Seine
28th ride the 500km to Bourg which borders Swizerland and Italy
29th-2 July explore Bourg
3rd ride to our hotel in the region Markgräfler Land.
4th ride through Austria and into Levico ( ITALY )
5th explore the area and tackle the Alp passes
6th ride the 780km down the east coast and across to the west coast to Rome
7th visit the local tourist sites, Collesseum, Leaning tower of Pisa, etc
8th ride 700km north to Milan
9th ride just 200km to our Swiss hotel in Gluringlen
10th ride to Murren and visit Schilthorn, Schilthorn is a 2,970 metre high summit in the Bernese Alps , one of the James Bond movies was shot here ! On Her Majesty's Secret Service
11th another 700km to Paris and hopefuly get to see the Eifel Tower at night.
12th visit the local sites, Louvre, Notre Dame and the Arc De Triumph
13th short ride to ferry and find my friends place to crash at.
14th ride about 500km into Wales, find a nice Bar ;D
15th another few hundred km to Scotland , possibly Edinburgh.Again find a nice Bar
16th 750km back to east London to return my rental bike
So i rekon i'll be covering about 6500km over 3 weeks on a Honda Deauville 700cc with my small pillion Scully, she weighs a whole 45kg ;D
All of my accomodation was from this website www.mobikehotel.com which is motorbike friendly and geared towards riders.
Anyway i'll sit down and give you my report once i'm home :ricky:
