The pipe on my GSA (stock standard!) is too short. I dont have any pics with me, but anyone with a GSA can see it. The exhaust pipe ends about 6 inches short of the back of the bike and as a result the pannier and the frame get covered in black soot.

My wife who is usually on the pillion also says she can feel the heat from the exhaust on her left hand. The heat from the exhaust warms up the pannier and its contents, even though there is a deflector plate fitted to the pannier as standard.

So what is the solution? Is there an aftermarket extension out there? Has anyone who has the same issue made an extension up? I am considering manufacturing (in my garage, pooratech) an extension that fits over the cone at the rear of the can so that the gasses are expelled just a few mm behind the frame/number plate.

Anyone have any input on this?
