Race Dog
so ive been precious about my bike since the day i got it, like anyone would. then 3 days in, i hugged a car. fate helped me get over the initial preciousness, but not all of it. i still had to see "my preciousss" on her side.
so today my uncle helped me with the latter.....
i went to show him my bike as he used to own scrambler when i was young (as in 4 or 5). so i figured; "he's an old biker, he looks like he wants to sit on it, so let him"
MISTAKE!
i offered for him to sit on it - SIT, not ride, SIT!
next thing he starts her up and tries to pull off. the bike was jerking and diving  , as he had no clutch controll, and zero feel for how sharp the brakes are. he jerks, jerks, stops and there she goes....his driveway is no beginners guide to bike riding and it slopes downhill to the one side. i couldnt get to them in time and could just look on as my baby went over in a slow (but luckily controlled) fashion.
thank goodness for the tankprotector and handguard, because they saved the paintwork and clutch.
so im still recovering from shock when he gets on AGAIN!
i cant get a word out in time and he's jerking and diving towards the far end of his garden. and yup, you guessed it....
he falls over yet AGAIN!!!!!!!!
both times i had to help him get it back up. but there was to be no 3rd time. i promptly said i had to be somewhere (anywhere but here) and got the hell outta there!
around the corner i stopped to do a damage check - luckily there was none, just a scratched tank protector and some grass in the footpeg.
it could have been worse though, he could have accidentally popped the clutch and wheelied into his garage door, phew!
:x
ps. at least i know now that a 950 on its side isnt the end of the world as we know it
