I appreciate that this would be very basic to many people, but please help.
I'll illustrate with an example: I would like to go from say Cullinan to BelaBela, traveling on gravel as far as possible. The normal map books indicate some tar and some gravel towards Rust De Winter. What does one use to detemine where to find the roads that are not in the books?
I've got a Vista C with what seems like very basic software, as is my knowledge of the device. Does one buy another GPS? Would T4A software give the needed information? My knowledge of off-the-tar navigation is probably close to non-existent.
The aim of this (Cullinan to BelaBela) exercise is to ride from Delmas, where we live, to the Waterberg, with the mountainbike. The gravel roads north-west of Warmbaths I know quite well. (Where Welsh travelled recently).
Once I've picked up some speed it will also help with the (motor)bike travels.
Thanks for the inputs.
