I ride a 690, and looking to get my son a starter ADV ride for some good old father and son quality time.
From what I have read in this section, two major shortcomings on the bikes:
1. Kickstand - Can live with (modify) this
2. Clutch / Torque problem
I am interested in a very clean 2009 model with 13,000 km / 300hrs at R35k - this seems to be fair and market related
When i rode the bike, the clutch engaged almost instantaneously, and had the lever had to be pulled in all the way to be able to select 1st gear. It did not seem to feel like the clutch was "slipping" whilst riding. Should I be worried with this being a tell tale sign of problems to come, or is it a simple adjustment of play on the cable?
