Frame number verification - Stolen or Not

Is there a way in South Africa to find out if a motorcycle frame has been reported as stolen ?
I acquired a frame when I bought a batch of motorcycle spares and now wish to sell it, but it would be good to be sure there are no issues with it before I do so. The frame number has not been tampered with in any way as far as I can tell.
