Fuel pressure regulator - K1200RS, for R1150GS

Steptoe from UKGSER has suggested this as a mod for the R1150GS, replacing the stock fuel pressure regulator (3bar) with the part from the K1200RS (3.5bar). This supposedly increases throttle response, and power even. The HP2 and possibly 1200GS use a 3.5bar FPR. However, this might mess with the air/fuel ratio (obviously more fuel), and possibly the 1150GS electronics will not be able to cope in adjusting the ratio. I've read about someone that did the mod and had to fit a fueling controller to get it right.

Steptoe is known on UKGSER, has a BMW bike repair shop, and I get the idea that he wouldn't just say this mod can work if that's not the case. Supposedly, this mod was done to BMW boxer cup race bikes back in the day.
