Bought the bike with a broken stem which had been glued together. (pretty flimsy as OE) This did not hold after two more attempts. Agent wanted R418 for a new one so went to plan B.
Removed and stripped unit, cut the broken surfaces flat, drilled the holes out to 6mm and pushed both ends over a 6mm tube x 25mm which I had lying around. They fitted so tight no adhesive was required. Looks like new and twice as strong.
