Had a look through the bike shops the other day for a mount for my Dakota 20.
Nothing fitted for my gps and pricing for a billet case or RAM mount was in the region or ZAR 750-900
and parts had to be ordered. Time to make a plan

Parts used:
Offcut of 50 mm pvc pipe found in the garage, Cost: free
3mm rubber backing recycled from some old broken taillight backing. Cost: free
A dab of contact adhesive to glue the rubber backing onto the stainless steel windscreen strut. Cost 20c
The whole process took about 1/2 an hour. The unit now sits nice and tight in the compression fit of the
pvc pipe without moving. I think this may work in the long run, only time will tell.
