Johan - do you only use tracks on yours (no routes)?
Routes only, no tracks. When I've got a track I redraw it in Mapsource or Basecamp with as many via points as possible to ensure the Zumo doesn't recalculate and do its own thing. Not sure if it's still needed these days, but it's worked for me over the years.Johan - do you only use tracks on yours (no routes)?
Is this also the case with the 396?Reviving this old thread - having just upgraded from my 595 I can say that it is in many ways next level BUT it is Android and not really Mac friendly - I was pissed off as Garmin do not declare this clearly but fudge the fact. One then needs to use Android Transfer protocol App and a workaround to transfer tracks with a USB - faarks with BT connectivity!Other than that frustration seems awesome.
Nope, 396 is still old school, but check my post - the mac issue is a non-issue in my opinion, I could do everything needed on my mac without any workarounds. Is this also the case with the 396?
Great thanks JohanNope, 396 is still old school, but check my post - the mac issue is a non-issue in my opinion, I could do everything needed on my mac without any workarounds.
I think because you are sending tracks not routes? Not sure what I’m doing right, or wrong but I’ve decided to give it a try on my Mac and was able to transfer all the routes and tracks from the XT, as well as create a track and transfer it to the XT using Basecamp.
I'll try with a route, but I can't see why it would work any differently? It's still just sending a gpx file to the device.I think because you are sending tracks not routes?
I can only work with tracks.I'll try with a route, but I can't see why it would work any differently? It's still just sending a gpx file to the device.
Odd, I'll give it a try and report back.I can only work with tracks.
So I’ve given routes a try and it worked the same. So for me there is no difference between sending tracks or routes.I can only work with tracks.
Must be, I don’t generally use my Mac for this, so it was a fairly new installation of Garmin Express and Basecamp for texting purposes.Guess I must dig around again - maybe there has been a software update?
Thanks for the infoMust be, I don’t generally use my Mac for this, so it was a fairly new installation of Garmin Express and Basecamp for texting purposes.
