Hi
Bought bmw f800gsa with 83000km on clock.
When I ride between 80kmh and 100kmh in 6th gear I have whine noise in gearbox.
Cannot hear the noise above that speed.
Front spocket was very badly worn and chain and rear sprocket looks like new.
Replaced sprockets and chain but noise still there.
Has anyone had similar problem.

Also like to know if manual timing chain tensioner could damage engine somehow since automatic tensioner is oil pressure driven.

Any help would be appreciated
Thank you in advance.
Will post remedy if fixed to help someone else aswell.

Spoke to a mechanic over phone and he suspect it's the bearing close to sprocket that broke due to chain too tight.
I suspect he may be right since there was very little adjusted on chain with that worn sprocket. In other words still a lot of adjustment left.

Mechanic in Kimberley checked bike before I received it and fitted manual timing chain tensioner. He test rode bike and said nothing is wrong.

Only driven less than 300km since got the bike.
