As some of the owners are English I will try to keep my side in English but Afrikaans advice is 100% :thumleft:
Now that I have the HP2 I would like to get some things done, but I don't want to start a thread for everything...
I will ask questions and just alter the heading - any help / advice would be appreciated from other 1200 / HP owners. :thumleft:
Prior to receiving it BMW had serviced the bike and done the belting conversion on the belly pan etc.
Stripping down and getting to know the bike
It amazes me how few T bits and spanners I needed to strip the bike down - on the 800 I had almost 3kg's of tools just to get in - this already speaks to the thought that went into the bike's design.
I want to give it a thorough cleaning / look over while I wait for the Markus tank etc.
Right of the bat I was :angry4: as the belly pan was covered in oil just after it had been serviced by BMW, the neck bearing was not torqued / checked because the cover that covers it had a piece of bee nest that was partly filling the hole.
Mods
1. GOOD cleaning
What should I watch out for when cleaning it like this - apart from the air intake what electronics need to be "covered" while hosing it down? - Covered the complete unit on the R/H side before spraying down
2. Resprayed cylinder heads
3. Fitting compressor
