Now Neui - Bethesda has to be one of my favorite places , for those that haven't been there before it seems as though the 60s haven't passed yet . Its Good Friday and I'm still in bed at about 9.00 am , my crazy friend Carlo Dutton asked me the previous day for a map to get to Graaf- Riennett via gravel . Well he forgot to take it with and hence i get a phone call "how do i get there " and he is sitting at Jansenville . I'm on my way just wait there ...........  [ its an hours ride away] .
i phone Slipstream.... come lets go to Neui - bethesda . He replies its raining . So whats an adventure bike for .
Twenty minutes later we found our way to Jansenville , and on to the gravel to Kendrew . What the hell its raining properly and the Karroo roads are snot . A ride that normally takes an hour becomes a nightmare , or is it fun ? Five hours later we arrive at Kendrew , and its still about one and halve hours to Neui - Bethesda . Now it is chucking properly , why did we do this again ?

Neui - bethesda is awesome so its totally worth it - Suddenly it dawns on me its Easter and we haven't booked a place to stay over . Shit we will just wing it and someone will give us a bed . We arrive at the the brewery [ first stop ] homebrew is totally unbelievable . Its on to the Karroo lamb next and look for a bed for the night . Well the place is totally full . After a bit of re shoveling we a are staying at the back packers . Its clean and comfortable enough [ after loads of lager] . The pub is legend and we get stuck until 2.00am . Get up after making loads of noise and waking up all the people at the backpackers and we off to Hanky for another party . We are still amazed that we didnt end up in the mud the previous day . The Hanky episode next!!

Ja OK needed someone to ask first !! Well a year or two ago i was introduced to a wonderfull family in the sprawling village of Hanky . Needless to say they are Boertjies and they party hard and long . They own a very nice little guest house called Putters Inn .

Well after Neui - Bethesda myself and Slipstream decided it was time to visit Hanky [ by the way the owner of Putters Inn also rides and is part of the forum as Bullperd] . we had given Bullperd a smoker for his birthday last year and he needed to learn how to use it . So our visit was centred around the smoker lesson . Well if you have 8 boertjies together and 2 souties theres bound to be some kind of sports .

Firstly our trip to Hanky wasnt complete until we rode from Uitenhage to Rocklands and then did the old Van Stadens pass to a short piece of gravel that took us to pub in the middle of knowere called "SOENTOE" . wonderfull people live there and very hospitable . Seeing as our destination was around the corner we tucked into a few frosties and then resumed our trip. Next stop on my whirlwind introduction of Hanky was The RockyRoad Pub , here Slipstream was awestruck by the eye candy serving behind the pub . Well a few lagers later and i had to convince him we had to leave for HANKY  . Slipstream can become very loud and without meaning any harm a bit direct , so on leaving the pub he shouts at me did you check out that rack . It took me a few seconds to register that he was referring to the pretty lady behind the bar , I'm sure she heard so i knew it was time to scoot .

After all the mud we rode, Slipstreams brakes had totally failed - so its a bit of tar to Hanky.
On arrival at our Hosts, beers had to be gargled and theres no telling a boertjie you don't want one . Lekker shower and party time started. Well what an eventfull evening . Loads of Brandywine and coke , laughter filled the night air and of cause you at the BOERTJIES so dancing is compulsory PT broek or not .  Now we all know the dancing is a precursor to boeresport , in other words at least one soutie is going get floored , tackled , jumped on , arm wrestled or all the above - but put simply we going home with a bruise or two .
Slipstream as I've hinted likes nice looking ladies and these were very nice ladies and he couldn't help himself and had to make conversation with them . Eventually at around midnight i had to ask if he could count , there are only two Souties and about 8 Boertjies ,what was he doing ? After being dive tackled by Mman who thought he was Jomo Lomu , i decided here we going to get Farked up - coffee and bed please . Thank goodness we did .
The next morning was wet and windy as hell . So early departure after thanking our wonderfull hosts for a lekker evening and boeresports , slow slow ride home .  Loads of sleep for me and ignoring Slipstreams calls , he was amped and his party started all over again - this time with Jules and Dirty XT - they can tell the rest if they want or dare .

yeah bumped into slipstream on sunday, was a cracker of a night tip top form indeed. I noticed at some point almost the entire pub was listening in to us. laughed so hard my face hurt...

well done! next time take the XR ok?

Could have gone much harder though........
Will have to wait for the bike to be repaired....
Awsum to do 5 h on snot if anything improved my skills smooth tyre and a surface that skriked for nothing(a little boerkie there check it)
