Has anyone ever noticed?
Back when I was still riding the GIXXER I always found that the suspension does not really suit road riding and its actually bloody uncomfortable. Or let me rephrase the GIXXER suspension did not suit the Eastern Cape roads which were previously known as tar roads but currently only a remembrance of what used to be.
Since Iâ??ve got the KLR Iâ??ve noticed how smooth the riding is. Minimal shock and vibrations on the kidneys and back. Especially since Iâ??ve done my KLRâ??s suspension it is even better.
Last weekend I rode next to my friend Kampies with his 955i Tiger. I was closely looking at the suspension movement of his bikeâ?¦ My word what a work of art. The rear and the front were both using lots of travel to keep the bike frame at the same height all the time. Its beautiful to see the mechanical engineering in action.
Next time you ride a dually on the road or gravel take a look at the suspension of the bike next to you.
I would love to see a KTM640 with WP suspension in action or one of those Dakar bikes
