Head Protectors

Just a thought, Advice will be appreciated.  If you have crash bars on your GS do you think it necessary to have head protectors also?  One of my plastic ones is missing and I am considering if it is worth replacing with either a new plastic or aluminium ones, or not bother replacing at all.
