This is just a notice to any dogs planning a trip in or around the Kakamas area......the main bridge is closed untill further notice which could be atleast 6 months and longer....
I do not know the correct terminology, but the "shock absorbers" at the bottom of the bridge feet has collapsed on and the authorities has closed the bridge for the foreseeable future....not even pedestrians allowed to cross over.
There are 2 alternitive routes....either go through Riemvasmaak - Blouputs....or take the Kakamas Keimoes gravel road over Neusberg....just keep in mind that the Neusberg gravel road is a nice scenic gravel road but at the moment it is very badly corrugated due to heavy traffic.
