With Pelican case for camcorder, and a "LANC" remote version 1.6.
You will need a recording device with A/V input. (Camcorder/ Archos PVR etc.)

If you have a remote with your recording device, that can also work
I used it with a Sony Handycam DCR HC 90, but my camcorder is busted, and I am not replacing it.
