My wife, against my advice, bought a Nitro F346-VN flip face helmet a while ago. It soon started looking dirty, and we found that it was covered in a sticky film that attracted dirt and defied all attempts to remove it with Mr Min, soapy water etc. I suspect it was some kind of protective laquer that had softened.

When I got home yesterday, I found out that she had cleaned it with Handy Andy and a Brillo pad.  I know that ammonia reacts with polycarbonate, so am I correct in assuming that the helmet is now stuffed?
