About eight months ago I went to have a spare key cut for the GS.
While waiting I strolled into Biketique and saw a near mint 1150r for sale- 42000KM for R45000.
A test ride later and now I own it-the more I ride it the more I like it.
The great upside of owning it is that if big shit happened to my GS I basically have a full set of spares (ENGINE -GEARBOX -SWINGARM-SWITCHGEAR-INJECTORS) for only R45000.
It also shares the same luggage racks and panniers of the standard GS - but above all it is a really nice ride in its own right.
Checking on the sites a good number of these bikes come up for sale with low km's and good prices.
