Old scam being used again....guy phones Hi Q ( tyre retailer) and says he has a puncture in a town 85km away and he need R300 airtime so he can send a pin drop and phone he's wife etc etc...they send him R300 airtime and take a tyre to he's location...ride around for 30 min on a Saturday afternoon looking for him and he's vanished....

I only found this out after he tried the same trick on me....I told him to take a flying fuck at the moon

Yes, 100% worth it.
1. Something might come of it, especially if they link your case to a few others, makes the snowball heavier.
2. Stats. If no one ever reported crimes, the cops would think they're doing a bangup job, your +1 goes down in history.

Ya, zef. I was a bit dof, but like I said, he seemed so legit..
Not pushy, and very accommodating. But.. I learned my lesson, check truecaller etc.
R650 is R650, but fortunately not a huge amount.
I wonder how this oke carries on using the same number, and gets away with it? Hopefully someone traces him one day, and sorts him out..

I posted on 4x4 community forum Classifieds. and also on a Facebook group, asking for an interior heater fan blower.
So not sure where this came from.

Long story short, very convincing, cos I am usually sceptical.
Paid him, sent a fake waybill number, now has blocked me.
Sent a filthy reply to my daughter when she whatsApped him requesting to refund money.

Truecaller identifies him as Oom Edwin Samuel, but he introduced himself as Adam Volschenk.

She managed to make contact with the real Wolverine South Africa and the lady told her that they receive weekly complaints from people ordering boots from this website, just to be cut off after payment.

I bought a Patrol from a well know "Patrol Fundi". He's a very well know guy in Patrol circles. I was assured that the vehicle would be in roadworthy condition, with a RWC, and be registered in my name. Immediately after flying up, and viewing the vehicle, I noticed a few irritating niggles, but elected to bite my tongue. I drove it home the next day - Pretoria to Agulhas in one go. At nightfall, I realized only one headlight worked, and no tail lights. This was just the start of my woes. The gearbox leaked, the fuel pump was dodgy, the sub-tank pump doesn't work, the passenger seat electric seat adjustment switch was broken, and a whole host of other problems. He obviously paid somebody for RWC, and by the time he got it registered in my name, the fake RWC had expired. Because of where I live and what I do for a living, taking a vehicle to a test station is a bloody mission.

I've given up trying to get this big mouth reimburse me. So before you buy a Patrol, contact me, just in case you end up buying from this guy.

I feel your pain. Most probably l have also been done in by this very same person. Long story short, he had al sorts of excuses etc. I thought l was just a single case, but it seems like more and more people are being done in by this case. One night after a few beers l went onto his Patrol page on FB and named and shamed him right there. Needles to say l was immediately blocked and removed from that site. I wonder why..

The issue with the Patrol has been sorted out. The guy I bought it from put me onto another buyer, who I met today and he is going to take the vehicle. So, credit where it is due.
