Yes i know i just basically got my WR450F, but the more i think of it, I think it was an impulse buy. Not that there is anything wrong with buying on impulse.
But the more dual sporting rides i do over 150km the more i realise that this bike and distance do not go hand in hand. Yes it can be adapted for distance Ie bigger wider softer seat, revised gearing and a 26l tank but that could cost around 8-10 000 and honnestly im not going to spend that on a bike that was intended as a weekend toy/stress reliever/thrill seeking thingamagic. Besides id hate to take it around a mx track with 26l of fuel in it.
so ladies and gentlemen..
I need another bike (dont tell kirsten >
) Ideally something that wont make me ache after 300km, that does not vibrate me in my tjops at 120kph and is stone reliable. I should also not think twice if I want to do some distance. but should be seen as an adventure bike.
Im toying with a KTM640 in my mind but i have a slight feeling that 2 up with gear and alles its going to sukkel at around 150kph.
This leaves me with big trailies
BMW 1150/1200
KTM 950/990 (just cos they crash so well)
Honda Africa twin / Varadero
