Interesting glimpse into the convoluted reasoning of Harley riders appearing in Die Burger's letter pages this morning. The writer hails from Durbanville and is reacting to an ongoing polemic between cyclists (pedal power) and motorists about road usage.
This Harley guy sympathises with the cyclists, saying that they (Harley riders) are also being insulted by motorists, forced off the road and getting the finger from motorists.
He whines that Harley riders don't lane-split and says they do not obstruct traffic.
Then comes the clincher:
"We are taught to ride in formation when two or more motorcycles ride together"
also (to the cyclists):
"We know the feeling. Do not be concerned about yuppies flashing lights and going on. They are probably jealous and feel inferior."
Weird.
