Idling problems

So my bike has started a new thing where it doesn't idle like it should. The revs sit just above 2000 when idling and then they "hang" when I change gears. I also can't slow down on compression cause the revs pull the bike along.
I have been advised to look for a broken/loose vacuum pipe but I have no idea where to start looking.

Anyone experience this or have any advice?
