I have been contacted by some people in the USA about temporarily importing their bikes into South Africa. I know most guys come in on a carnet, but these people just want to do South Africa for a month. I have tried to contact customs but they don't want to respond at present.
Does anybody know if it is possible to import the bikes for say a month and what is the process of doing this. Does a deposit have to be put down etc. Can it be done for free (I ask and hope).
