Hi fun,
I must confess, riding with a pillion on dirt helps... It feels if the bike has more/better tracktion and is more stable. I think the extra weight help. We were not jaaging (my name is not #&$^), but were able to handle a comfortable speed. Even with panniers & top box on, the bike handled superb. I can't complain.
On the tyres: The first few km's I've done with them I thought "Jeez, they won't last 3000km". Well, I was wrong. Seem that the centre knobblie wears off fast in the begining, but settles around it's halfway mark. Now it seems that it is stuck there.... I'm sure that 7 - 8000km on a rear is do-able, but all depends on your riding style and conditions.
I'm hooked on the TKC's. Will only use DS tyres when I pland a long (7000km+) tar trip.
