I am planning a ride to do Baviaans again. The thing is, I would like to take a slightly different route to get to Patensie. The route I am planning is to follow the northern side of the Baviaanskloof Wilderness Area.
The route for the day is, Graaff-Reinet, Jansenville, Steytlerville, Patensie then halfway along Baviaans.
I am looking for fairly up to date info regarding the road and specially the pass (Antoniesberg Pass). I am not afraid of the pass, but must also get halfway through Baviaans, on the same day. Lodge owners in the area I spoke to say it is no problem. The problem is that are sitting in their 4X4's.
I did the road about 6 or 7 years ago and it was not nice. Maybe things have improved.
