Another death yesterday. It’s mad. Mad. Mad. Crazy what these guys do. I suspect in time the TT will be shut down. Going to increase pressure to stop them here at IOM.

Yesterday was a champagne day. Great weather and lots of racing. Our campsite borders the circuit so walked up and watched from there. Pints in hand. Watched all 3 races yesterday. With the accident all riders stop at the point they see the red flag so 3 riders stopped where we were. All amateurs who pay their own way. One guy asked if we had tobacco. Porrapiel is a smoker so gave him baccy an paper. Had a chat. Lad from the midlands. Works on his own bike an spends his own money. Chatted to him for about 30 minutes.

Spent evening at fan park. Watched a band an more pints. Met Michael Dunlop. He was walking about. Quiet unassuming lad. Short too.

Mcpint been off the pace. To be expected I spose an I reckon Honda knew he would be but the exposure would be great. It has been.

No racing today. Gonnachill an take the RF around the island.

Lots of saffas here. Lekker to talk to the guys.

(Signal is poor here)

Riding a lap of the circuit. It’s bumpy with trees , post boxes, hedges , houses etc etc etc. it’s farking madness to race here.

Some poor sod had accident on the mountain road so it’s closed for now.

There is only racing every second day so ppl can go on the off days. Racing only starts around 10:30 and finishes by 7 ish. If an emergency situation then I dont know. Maybe an emergency number an they shut a race down or something.

That said, this whole thing is madness. Absolute folly to race on these roads.

Guys got balls of steel.

At a coffee shop. Ous waiting for road to open again.

What are the speed limits on the island? For normal road use?

There is no national speed limit, but in build up areas and other areas for safety as low as 50km/h up to 80km/h.

On the IoM you do not muck around with the constabulary. A competitor this year, on a short cut after practice was canceled, exceeded the speed limit in that area. He was arrested and hauled before a magistrate where he was fined and reported to the organisers. As a visitor, you can easily find yourself on a ferry back to the mainland, faster than a SA cop can write a ticket.
