Hi guys,
I have this NEED to go on a solo trip in December. Try to break down these walls that's been built through this year, fill the holes that has been dug and recollect myself before the next crazy year starts.
I have planned a rough route that will look something like this:
Leave home at earliest convenience, ride to clarens where the first night will be spent.
Next morning leave bright and early, pass through golden gate, enter Lesotho and Monantsha border control. Take that gravel road that runs more or less along the border to Khukhune where it joins the tar road.
Follow this tar road to afriski, maybe stop fro a quick breather, lunch and carry on towards Sani Pass. Sleep over at Sani PAss lodge backpackers, and continue home from there next morning.
Approx. riding times as follows:
DAY 1: Home - Clarens 3.5hrs
DAY 2: Clarens - Afriski 3.5hrs
Afriski - Sani Pass Lodge 4.0hrs
DAY 3: Sani PAss Lodge - Home 6.5hrs

My questions:
1) is this a viable solo trip with a big bike? It looks like mostly tar :'( and the sections of gravel looks manageable..
2) Is the Lesotho borders an issue wrt paper work etc?
3) Any other suggestions or comments?
I will add more questions etc as the pop up.
Thanks! :ricky: :ricky: :ricky:
