I have a strange issue which has surfaced fairly recently.
When starting the bike either from cold or after a stop you turn on the ignition, neutral light etc comes on you press the start button and get about half a turn of the starter and the neutral light goes out on the dash and then everything is completely dead. Turn off the ignition and back on and sometimes it will do it again, other times it will start.
Alternatively if you turn on the ignition the neutral light doesnt come on, turning it on and off a few times and it will start.
So far it has never died on me while running, only seems to do this before starting.
Have a multi day ride coming up on some dirt and Im a bit worried this leaves me stranded as where we are going there is minimal signal. Ignition barrel contacts possibly just dirty? or nackered. What are the chances of finding another ignition with original key?
