On Friday when i was washing the bike i noticed a "soot" build up on the rear fender at the exhaust side of the bike, whats this ? I checked the oil window and seen that it has gone down - quite a lot since the 1000km service. Im now on 3000km. Didnt have time to research what it could be till today and i found this discussion at https://www.klr650.net/forums/showthread.php?t=40586
Being a bit worried i called the dealer where i bought the bike and spoke to the workshop manager. He said i should come down so that he can have a look. Went in after work and he agreed that something isnt lekker. It should not have used so much oil in 2000km and there should not be "soot" coming out the exhaust. He will discuss the matter with there representative at KawaSA. For time being we are going to drain the bike and try a synthetic oil of some sorts to see if the problem persists - all free of charge - on Monday.
Now as if the issues ive had with the indicators wasnt enough now ive got this to contend with. Not the dealers fault of course but eeeeeish man what a schlep.
So, anyone else experiencing these symptoms ? or did i just get a dud bike
