After thinking about doing the Pro Taper bars on my KLR I was convinced when I saw some pics on the Forum.
Li and I went to Moskays to take a little look around. I found a nice set of Taper SE ATV High Bars in Black for R490.
Along with a set of Progrip Gel grips for R160 and a cheap set of handle bar ends (only needed the rubber expander bits) for R80
I was initially not sure what the right type of bars are and remembered someone having put Raptors on but they were out of stock, Good thing as it seems the ATV high bars are perfect for me.
Mounting was a piece of cake!
"Floating" the old grips of using a blast of air from my compressor took all of 30 seconds and left the old grips intact.
I also removed the small "nubs" off inside the start and indicator controls to allow them to mount without a problem.
I modified the bar ends I bought so that the rubber fitment pieces fitted on the stock KLR bar ends.
All in all I'm very happy with the result and the black suits my bike well. Cant wait to ride so I can test them out "in the field"
