I have been following the mechanical issues with the KLR for a while with interest.
Say I was in the market to buy a new 2013 KLR for R 65000, what essential issues must be sorted out to make a brand new bike more reliable. How much extra would I have to spend to put my mind at ease? I can think of the Doo, progressive front springs and the 685 Schnitz piston to sort out the most likely oil burning issue later. Perhaps the more experianced KLR okes can give some insight here. It's just a general ball-park figure that you can work with (incl. labour) to sort out these things.
It's in know way to put down the venerable KLR, but just to get a better understanding of what we are looking at here. :thumleft:
