I had a spykered back wheel last weekend, had it fixed on Monday and while I was about it replaced the rear wheel bearings with rubber sealed units... (cheapskate Kawa factory).
As I had read some horror stories on the rear suspension I set about dismantling the rear suspension as well, cleaned all the bearings and seals and added a bit more grease than what the factory had done.
Mine were resonably lubricated but I felt better when I had finished.
There was corrosion on the two long bolts wich I cleaned up and then I gave them a good dab of grease as well before re-assembly.
When your wheel is out... check the bearings and at the same time do your swingarm, makes the next time a much more pleasant job.
I suspect the front wheel is also fitted with semi sealed bearings, when it gets time to replace the tyre or fix a flat I will swap them for sealed units as well.
I did not take any pics as there are enough out on the net already, Google "KLR Swingarm" >
