I have the opportunity to buy a 2008 KLR650. I have sat on the bike and my feet do touch the ground. The seat is comfy and generally I do like the bike. I am EXTREMELY dumb on things mechanical. However I have read that this particular model bike is an oil guzzler. Do all of these bikes use oil, or is it only some? Being mechanically retarded should I give it a miss? I fully realize that the generalities applied are dangerous, and that one bad report outweighs the 100 non spoken happy ones. My riding will be sedate, I hope, as I am the wrong side of 65. I know that the final decision is mine. The bike is at Adventure MX in Pretoria. Anyone prepared to take a look and give another opinion.
