Hey Guys,
Now I know the 950 is not a very popular bike - compared to the other Marques... but here are some mods I did, which was hard earned knowledge I can tell ya.
First up...
The Sommer Air Box Mod
KTM Sommer cut up 10 airboxes with dyno runs on each change to measure if it was worth cutting up and adding holes. Interesting - what happened is that they found that a vertical opening in the triangle pointing backwards gave a lot of boost down low and mid range.
FWIW, carbs feed this KTM.
Heres a pic of my mod, which is a pure shameless copy of their work. Very cheap and a definate change in power... for the better.
I have since cleaned up the groove, and it runs the full length of one side of the triangle. Yep - thats fine mesh in there with gasket maker to hold it all in place and etc
