On a recent trip to Botswana my fuel reserve light came on at its usual distance. I wasnst too concerned as I had an extra few liters strapped on the back, just in case.So I thought I would ride to the next fuel stop or until I ran out.
Normally in town I would look for a fuel station around the 40 - 50 km into reserve.
So what would you expect?
I was on tar cruzing at 100kms/ hr and loaded with camping gear, food and clothes.
I reached the planned fuel stop with 97.9 kms on reserve and it still had not run dry! I admit it must have been very close but this impressed me hugly because the consumption of the 990 is kak to say the least.
The total on that tank was 320. Not too shabby for my favorite gas guzzler.
