Hi

First off I am not interested in brand wars, this is a legitimate question.

I do not use my bike only as a toy, I use it daily as transport, a toy, touring, in other words, an all rounder. I had a 1200GS before and it fit the bill very well. However, I am looking to get a KTM, most likely a 990. However I don't want to break the bank. Biking has saved me a lot of money over the years.

So, what is the fuel consumption like? Keep in mind when I commute, I control the right hand, I have no ego issues and can happily just chill when commuting. On weekends I will give it more but rarely will go faster than 160. I am proficient on dirt not an expert. Obviously my commuting is done on tar but most of my weekend riding is offroad. Not super rough or technical, that is what plastics are for.

Tires? How long can I expect those to last given the above?
I do about 18 000km per annum give or take how is that service wise?

I am sure some guys on here have done the maths so I am looking for some numbers. I have my numbers from my 1200 so it will make a good comparison.

Thanks for the help
M
