lovely DB...what camera did you use for the riding shots?

GoPro Hero 2 mounted on the side of my helmet. The remote (wifi) you can see on my wrist. I had it set to take a pic every 5 secs so had hundreds to sift through last night. The next day I had it mounted to my wrist for the tubing trip down the river.

I also use it mounted to the front of my surfboard facing back at me. As I paddle for a wave I hit the remote on my wrist and video the complete wave ride. Works great.

Thanks James .......Lekker pic's and well done on that ride two up on the klr  :thumleft: :ricky:

Kerritz.......... your bike is sweet.

Black is Black and I want my baby back yeah....... :ricky:

my ribs hurt when i look at this corner  ;D

Is that the corner where you came off ? You were behind me so I didnt know until we stopped.

Hows the damage to the GS and you ?

@Dirty Boy

Everything in my body was saying go right but was carrying too much speed as I came out of the left at the top. Lack of skill and experience resulted in a sudden stop in the ditch at the bottom compounded by my PIG hitting the ditch and landing on top of me. Worst injury was my EGO :-[  Ribs shoulder neck and thigh all a little tender. just hoping to be OK to be able to run the Two Oceans 21km this Sat. A small crash but my first. will be spending more cash on protective clothing in the near future  ;D

PIG has dented and scratched tank. Bent crash bars and left mirror. Broken indicator, fairing bracket, fairing and wind deflector. Philip AKA Raka has kindly offered me his old front fairing which was my biggest concern. My other big problem is trying to reimburse him as he will only agree to a few beers the next time we hook up.

Still really enjoyed it. what a beautiful part of the world. I found the climbs quite daunting as a novice but the steep down hills are still my biggest fear :)

hm, there were a lot of  switchbacks and tight corners on the downhills, they seem to be more fun to me going up, than going down them...but i think most people would admit to that...the loose surface rock and gravel just complicates it a bit more...and knowing the drops are 2km down, does not help....was fun though...

Sorry to hear about all the damage Seb but glad there is no broken bones.

We will start in the valley next and then progress steeper...... :thumleft:

Hope you can run the marathon.......

Please do  not tell the wife.................................testing the waters a lil bit  ;)

Ouch. Yup, you are right about the lack of skill and experience. I was in the same place just a few years back when I started riding. Always over cooking it in the corners and KLR's are not known for good brakes either.
I feel I have got better with time and noticed a sudden improvement once I bought an old MX bike. You learn to read the path ahead very quickly on a plastic.

I hope this little incident wont stop you from joining us again.

Hahahaha Tommy more like prodigal son returning.

Wife wants me to trade Busa for a DS bike..................mmmmmmmmmmm unlikely !

But a 650 something DS, might be a good bet in place of "her" scoot  :peepwall:

That is like the dirt version of 'The Corkscrew' at Leguna Seca.... >:D

What a lekker weekend - well done to the organisers and Gunda always has interesting routes lurking in his GPS.

Any of you bastids that rode back along the gravel road between Himeville and Nottingham Rd on Sunday would have seen me truly toiling into a headwind on a mountain bike to ride 100km. A few DS bikes cruised past me and I was most, most envious.

Stupid is as stupid does.

can someone pls post a link to the electric baaik thread? I cant find it.......
methinks Husky should get one of those?

Seb............One day riding in the valley with us will have you sorted. :thumleft: :ricky: :3some:

And another thank you is called for:-

Dear Mr Weather-God Sir,

Thank you so much for holding back on the rain over KZN until Monday and allowing us to ride the KZN bash with no rain and mud.

It is appreciated.

If you could do the same for us next year it would be really great!

Kind Regards

GundaGunda.

ps. My landlady says thanks for the rain today for her garden.
