So I'm planning on riding from East London to Katse in between Christmas and New Years, meeting up with Cave Girl for New Years eve. I'm going to leave EL early on the 29th and head to somewhere near Kokstad or Matatiele to over night and then leave early on the 30th to get to Katse.
I've had a look on google maps and I don't really want to go up Sani and straight to the dam. I found another route that goes from Matatiele through a border east of Quacha's Nek to Ramatsediso, follow the border for a bit and then head in.
My question is if anyone has done this route, is it do-able, and I will be riding solo so is it a good idea?
