Limpopo makes me moist.

Start of the rocky descent of Orrie Baragwanath. From here things got interesting

I’ve been wanting to to ride Orrie for quite some time and was slightly disappointed when I realised we would be going down the rocky part and not up. Going up will be more challenging on those rocks, but I think the 501 would’ve handled it well.

Arriving at the bottom of the pass I thought that that was the challenging part of the day behind us. Boy, was I wrong..........

I see your crew doesn't exactly rush out to the middle of the river to help the drowning 990! Just like my "mates". Looks like a blast though, and it's putting me in the right mood for my upcoming Easter ride in N. Tanzania where the rain has been endless for two weeks. Rivers of inspiration here indeed!

All very capable riders. We tend to make very sure the rider can’t suffer through on his own.....[emoji12][emoji12][emoji12]

Next up was the “23 River Crossings” part of the route through the beautiful Mhotlapitse (?) Valley in the Wolkberg Wilderness reserve.

The 990’s second drowning in as many days.  The rocks in the river were super slippery and even made walking over them impossible.

Due to the technical nature of the route, we ended up taking just a few photos, but MonkeyNot will post some action camera footage from my helmet.

The route changed constantly. One moment we would be riding on a bed of rocks and the next you would be under the canopy of a tropical forest, only to open up into an open area with no sign of a track.
