Lonesome ride from Port Elizabeth to Knysna via Mountains to R62

Set off on a trip very early last week ended up having coffee at storms river. Ride was rather lonesome but every time i ride my bike it is an adventure rode up into the mountains above the lake area just before Wilderness just plain awesome.

The Blaaukranz pass from the Eastern Cape side will shortly become un ridable due to rock fall tree,s lying over the road, yet the Cape province are is extremely well looked after. The Grootrivier pass into Natures Valley is in great condition.  Kom se Pad is in real bad shape with the heavy log trucks causing a lot of damage.

Thanks for sharing those pictures are great.....how far down after storms river do you turn down to get onto the blaauwkrans? I always wanted to take that detour when I go down the garden route  :biggrin:

a few Ks past Boscor sawmill you will see the Coldstream road on your right, take it and enjoy the Blaukraans and natures valley :thumleft:

The moment you see the turn off to Blaawkranze pass which has a red arrow saying the pass is closed you take that road past Cold stream properly 15 km further on you get to the pass

Basically all the Blauwkrantz side needs is for some fallen trees to be hauled out of the way.
