Picked up my 2016 R1200 GSA few weeks back after upgrading from a 2015 F800 GSA. We decided (better half and myself) that we would like to go visit family over Christmas in JHB and we planning to ride the bike up from cape town and via Upington back to Cape Town.
The bike has a full service history from BMW. Got it at 24k km and currently it has 26k km on. Total trip distance is 3200km (give or take a few 100km depending on some trips around JHB).
Will be riding with the standard alu panniers and topbox. Planning tar only for this trip.
Anything specific items I should check before taking on a trip like this?
I have done 900+ km a day before on the F800 so I am sure we should not have an issue on the 1200 but, just thought I would ask what I should pay attention to mechanically on this trip.
