Long rides: The bare essentials

I've been wondering:

I need:

• a vendor for rat-packs. you know the army ones.
• a cheap-ass sat-phone. I've been thinking of getting a aircraft radio. If the shit hits the fan, and I'm still alive, hopefully there's a aircraft around who can relay a message for me. I have an adequate radio license, just not sure if the SACAA will approve!
• a way to sleep with less gear: Ie, hammock tent system, etc

Any of you know where one can get stuff like this, or a DIY solution?

I need to carry 3 days supplies, thus the need for less gear.
