I'm lucky enough to have 2 weeks for a ride coming up in September. My plan is to ride from our place in Gansbaai to my dad's place near Richmond in KZN. I plan to spend about 3 days there and then ride back again.
I don't want to rush, want to stay off the main highways as much as I can, hit some nice gravel roads and do a few scenic passes.
So far my planning is...
Day 1: Gansbaai to Calitzdorp via Barrydale
Day 2: Calitzdorp to Steytlerville via Swartberg Pass via Klaarstroom and Willowmore
Day 3: Steytlerville to Queenstown via Pearston, Cradock and Tarkastad
Day 4: Queenstown to Rhodes via Dordrecht and Barkly East
Day 5: Rhodes to Richmond via Mount Fletcher and Underberg.....maybe get in a trip up Sani Pass weather permitting.
Am I missing a "must do" or does that seem a good route to take? Coming back I will go through the Knysna area....
