Looking for 1150 gsa twin sparks second hand engine - help please

My 1150 gsa has a damaged crankshaft and conrods. I was advised not to fix it but get a second hand engine instead... so far no luck in SA.  However there are quite a few in Netherlands, Germany in the US for less than R12000.  Anyone has experience importing a second hand engine?
Other option is to buy another bike and sell all the good parts... how much can I expect for that?
