Hi there KLR dawgs.
I'm new to the forum so please forgive me if this subject has been dealt with before.

I've been thinking the other day that, as the KLR was designed to run on unleaded fuel, it obviously has hardened valve seats right? But despite this, valve clearances seem to tighten up on KLR's over time, indicating that valve seat wear still occurs to a certain degree.

So I decided to fill up with LRP since it already has a valve seat lubricant additive added for older engines with "soft" valve seats.  Also, there's no calatyzer on the KLR so nothing can be negatively affected by the LRP's additives.

The bike ran as sweet as ever, and I'm now on my 6th tank of LRP already. Fuel consumption is unchanged, and the bike feels slightly smoother and more eager but that's probably just my imagination.

I've also done some reading since then and it seems that LRP is also favoured by owners of these new generation 4-stroke MX bikes, also to reduce the chances of burning valves on the longer enduro races.

So, anyone else using LRP in their KLR's?
